Welcome to Christian Art Daily

This website is designed to help you find meaning and inspiration in Christian artworks - in a church, museum, book, or website. Over time, your knowledge and the depth of your engagement will grow.  We are honored to offer you a thicker sense of how Christian artists have brought their faith to life throughout the centuries.

Why use this site...

Christian art is some of the best art ever made but often we don't really know how to make sense of it. This site offers some basics. There are some meditations that will guide you through a spiritual encounter with an artwork. There are interpretive  summaries that ask you to notice details then offer questions to help you pull the details together into a coherent meaning. Enjoy!

Engaging the Art

About me...

This site is an accumulation of work over many years. I was bowled over by some art in the Vatican Museums when I was a corporate lawyer in the 1980s. I eventually got a PhD in religion and education focusing on how Christian visual art can be educational.

Trouble is, most religion textbooks don't have much art. the art is in churches, museums, and the internet. So I created this website for you to take with you into churches, museums, and the internet. Much of the content of this site used to be in a mobile app called Art/y/Fact.Xn.

This is a drawing of me in 1970. I can't even read the artist's name anymore. My name is Eileen Daily. Join me by taking your own journey into Christian art.

  • For example, should we add a way for you to post about your experience and respond to others' posts?
  • Do you want to see sample artworks for each of the interpretation categories?
  • Are the random interpretation videos helpful or distracting?
